Job Description

Dawson Logistics is hiring for a Warehouse Selector Supervisor for our Lebanon, TN facility. This is a 2nd shift position.

This position manages and coordinates the warehouse selection process. In addition, this position effectively processes relevant written and verbal communication to ensure that all tasks are completed effectively and always executes the goals and objectives set by the Operations Manager to ensure a working environment conducive to team-work and individual motivation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Distribute and monitor workload, motivate team to ensure orders are picked, packed and shipped in accordance with daily fulfillment guidelines
  • Train new hires and existing employees on processes and procedures, as needed
  • Research and resolve pick and ship reported errors, and initiate efforts to prevent reoccurrence by addressing the root cause
  • Open or close the warehouse at the beginning and end of assigned shifts, or outside normal working hours, as required
  • Develop and maintain an efficient and motivated warehouse work force
  • Enters and tracks payroll information, including work hours, attendance, and benefit time to ensure accurate payments to employees.
  • Record and monitor staff attendance, approve PTO and perform annual performance evaluations
  • Enters relevant data into the Warehouse Management System.
  • Maintains clean, safe and organized warehouse environment in accordance with department standards
  • Maintains a quality control log, entering required information.
  • Other duties as assigned. Supervise the daily operations of the order fulfilment team
  • Monitor individual and team productivity, and drive continuous productivity improvement through process enhancements and one on one coaching
  • On a daily basis, organize workload throughout the department to maximize efficiency and meet company goals
Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • One to two years experience selecting in a warehouse.
  • Associate Degree in Business, Logistics, Materials Management or combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of one years experience training and promoting safety.
  • A minimum of two years experience supervising warehouse workers or comparable positions

Knowledge

  • Use PowerPoint to prepare and present safety training and other informational content.
  • Use intermediate level of Excel to create spreadsheets that provide, synthesize, and analyze information for use in the position, upper management, budgeting, and planning.
  • Utilize and teach principles of logistics, warehouse, and materials management.
  • Use Word to prepare reports, compose emails, memos, and performance evaluations.

Skills/Abilities

  • Provide leadership to subordinates to ensure quality and quantity of production.
  • Discern priorities and multi-task to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse.
  • Manage time to complete all assigned tasks according to designated schedules, including submitting reports, approving employee work time, completing evaluations, etc.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with staff, supervisors, upper management, customers, and vendors.
  • Organize work schedules, assignments, and projects.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and last-minute adjustments.
  • Effectively solve routine problems using good judgment periodically without established protocols or procedures.
  • Handle a large volume and variety of work.
