Job Description

Warehouse Packer

South Hackensack, New Jersey, United States

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools
  • Examine and inspect materials and products
  • Measure, weigh, and count products and materials
  • Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, nails, and hand tools
  • Maintain quality service by following organizational standards
  • Record product, packaging and order information on specified forms and records
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Communicate incomplete or defective products and questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Move product by hand, using a hand truck or electric jack / walkie from and to different warehouse areas
  • Perform production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling operations and sorting
  • Effectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization
  • Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties
  • Place products or materials into containers using hand tools and equipment

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work with RF gun and computer screens
  • Shift will be 10:00AM-7:00PM (Hours may be adjusted to accommodate business conditions)
  • Occasional opportunities for OT, and must be available for OT (could be before / after shift or Saturday)
  • Must be flexible with starting/finishing times
  • Work at a fast pace and demonstrate urgency towards the completion of projects
  • Must be able to lift over 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
  • Must be able to communicate inventory issues or problems promptly, clearly, and effectively
  • Must be flexible- handle different jobs during the day/week as needs dictate
  • Must be a self-starter / go-getter
  • Must be proficient with computers
  • Must be forklift certified or be able to be certified within 30 days of start
  • Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Repetitive Motion
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
