Provides implementation and on-going operational support for the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Labor Management Systems (LMS) across all Distribution Centers (DC). Responsible for functional configuration, system testing as well as user procedure creation and associate training. Works with all DC’s for process improvements and helps manage future enhancements and functional changes as requested.
1. Supports DC Operations by investigating and troubleshooting WMS/LMS related issues at each DC and provides support to other systems teams and facilities, including participating in performance testing and peak season support planning and execution.
2. Serves as a liaison between DC Operations and Big Lots IT.
3. Gathers and translates business requirements into a functional flow.
4. Researches, troubleshoots and determines the root cause of system failures impacting operations, including escalation to appropriate parties, prioritizing open issues with the team.
5. Assists in process designs as they relate to WMS/LMS projects.
6. Participates in configuration, testing/validation and implementation of WMS/LMS releases.
7. Assists in training business partners and DC counterparts on implemented systems and process changes. Creates and manages user procedures used in the DC Operation.
8. Creates and distributes ad hoc queries as required for DC Operations and senior leadership.
9. Assists in gathering report requirements as well as testing and report roll out to DC operations.
10. Manages schedules and expectations within each DCs teams related to all WMS/LMS changes or enhancements and provides regular status.
11. Promotes Distribution &Transportation Services objectives for the defined set of processes and work with various business partners to define and implement solutions that meet those objectives.
12. Performs other operational responsibilities as required by DC leadership and/or project teams.
Qualification
1. 3+ years experience in retail distribution environments preferred.
2. 2+ years experience with Warehouse Management Systems application required with Labor Management Systems experience preferred.
3. Bachelor’s degree in logistics, IT, or operations preferred or equivalent experience.
4. Strong project management skills; and written/verbal communication skills.
5. Strong analytical skills and PC skills, including SQL and Microsoft Office Suite.
6. 10% Travel will be required.
