Job Description

A Day in the Life

Order Selection:

  • Pull, pick, and stage product for agency orders using a voice picking system.
  • Meet the required cases per hour standard of 200CPH, with an accuracy of 99.8%.

Warehouse Organization and Equipment:

  • Perform pre-shift equipment checks to ensure safe operation.
  • Accountable for daily warehouse and equipment organization and cleanliness.

Forklift Operation:

  • Fulfill all duties and requirements of a Warehouse Receiver or Forklift Operator.
  • Operate the forklift and other equipment for moving pallets and navigating tight spaces with products.
  • Receive shipments and give forklift help activities as needed.

Pallet Put-away:

  • Move pallets into the correct racking and designated locations.
  • Work in various areas, including the dry warehouse, coolers (40 degrees), and freezer (-15 degrees).
  • Ensure accurate and efficient pallet put-away by placing and scanning appropriate pallet tags.

Pallet Drops:

  • Move pallets in racking to appropriate locations for pullers.
  • Use the Warehouse Management System to scan locations and pallet tags for accurate and efficient pallet drops.

Safety:

  • Perform all tasks in a constant state of alertness and always prioritize safety.

This position is an order selector, forklift operator, and receiver as needed. They assist in pulling orders for agency orders, the volunteer center, and drivers as needed.

  • Working in a warehouse environment for at least 1 year.
  • Obtaining a high school diploma or GED.

Other Qualifications:

  • Clearance of background investigation and drug screen.
  • Pass physical examination.

Your Environment

Full exposure to extreme weather changes and humidity/moisture relative to atmospheric condition variations. Includes exposure to extreme summer and winter temperatures, as well as rain, sleet, and snow. Full exposure to dust, chemicals, gases, fumes, smoke, excessive noise, and/or vibrations. Work generally performed in an industrial environment (indoor or outdoor) with various hazards and noise exposure. Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training. Overtime, Weekend and/or Holiday hours may be required.

Physical Demands

Utilize multi-limb coordination and flexibility combined with control precision to perform fine motor skills including: finger manipulation, grasping, feeling, arm-hand steadiness, in order to push, pull or lift objects Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work involves climbing at heights at or above six feet. · Utilizes multi-limb coordination to balance on even or uneven surfaces, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, and walk, reach over shoulders or below the knees. Auditory attention and hearing sensitivity is required, as candidates must possess the ability to distinguish various sounds that serve as key maintenance indicators. Must employ the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
