Job Summary
A warehouse Associate is responsible for picking and sorting product based specific to customer orders. The role may be also be responsible for shipping, receiving or delivering supplies, materials and equipment. A Warehouse Associate must always ensure they are maintaining inventory control and records during all product move processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Storing and stacking materials according to company standards
- Utilizing manual lifts, reach trucks and transfer equipment (requires applicable safety and operational training)
- Unloading, moving and storing materials. Loading trucks for delivery.
- Picking orders from warehouse inventory using item location identifiers
- Operating RF scanners and other hand-held devices
- Reporting inventory shortages and recommending new orders
- Identifying and verifying parts
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Removing damaged materials from stock and document inventory adjustment accordingly
Minimum work experience requirements:
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving practices.
- Must be a team player and abide by QED’s strong core values and beliefs.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Forklift experience preferred
- Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of branch product lines.
- 6 months of related experience working in a warehouse and/or distribution environment preferred
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing personnel and work activities.
- Knowledge of merchandise handling and production methods.
- Some knowledge of basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
