Job Description
We are looking for a VP of Technology to join one of the nation’s leading ophthalmology-focused pharmaceutical businesses, a direct-to-consumer eye care subsidiary focused on chronic vision care.

Responsibilities


  • Oversee documentation, and development of ongoing technical best practices
  • Oversee yearly operational and capital budget, including managing the procurement and implementation of new hardware and systems
  • Lead innovation and process improvement initiatives
  • Provide direct leadership to Software Engineering, QA, IT, and Technical Project Management teams with a focus on strategy and people management
  • Lead timeline/resource planning and project management
  • Ensure all teams are advised of issues, statuses, change requests, critical decisions, schedules, release requirements, and metrics
  • Commit to team performance, individual development, and coaching/mentoring direct reports
  • Optimize, adapt, and grow an environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and high-quality standards
  • Develop and execute a strategic technology roadmap in alignment with enterprise business goals. Provide the strategic leadership, collaborative coordination, and creative problem-solving necessary to manage and advance new and existing opportunities across the business.
  • Oversee operational support for all systems across the business
  • Serve as chief architect for the company ensuring technologies are strategically aligned, protected, secure, and available.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and manage vendor agreements and relationships


Qualifications And Experience


  • 10+ years of experience in a broad range of IT areas, including some combination of the following: managing Linux and Microsoft environments, software development, data warehousing, operating systems, hardware administration, and networks
  • Strong decision-making skills and an understanding of where projects fit into overall corporate and development strategies
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field and equivalent years of experience required.
  • Significant professional experience in technical development practices, including daily SCRUM stand-ups and issue-tracking ability
  • Knowledge of multiple facets of technology as it relates to general manufacturing/assembly processes
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply both process and technology solutions to business requirements
  • Familiarity with cloud storage, mobile web, IT security, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in LAMP development environments and ERP systems such as MS NAV, OpenERP, Odoo, SAP, etc.
  • Possess a broad understanding of current and emerging technical architecture and trends relevant to the pharmaceutical industry, HIPAA, PHI, PCI, and SOX.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proven ability to develop and lead the technology roadmap
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering
