Tetra Tech is seeking a Visualization Specialist to join our growing visual resource assessment team. Working with Tetra Tech’s outstanding Environmental Permitting group, our team prepares visual impact assessment technical reports and visualizations to support clients in the renewable energy, electrical transmission, and oil and gas sectors.


This position can be fully remote or in an office location.


Responsibilities:

In this role, you will support a variety of projects in a dynamic environmental consulting environment. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and working with digital 3D models of proposed projects (electrical substations and transmission equipment, onshore and offshore wind farms, solar generation, battery energy storage) to create accurate and legally defensible photographic simulations and animations to support federal, state and local permitting applications,
  • Preparing compelling and accurate 2D page layouts and 3D animation products to support visual impact analyses and public engagement presentations,
  • Designing and developing infographics to effectively communicate complex engineering projects and impact analyses procedures to agency reviewers and public stakeholder audiences.
  • Conducting occasional fieldwork to collect technically defensible digital photography for use in visual impact assessments and photo simulations and/or video animations – travel time is expected to be 10-20%

The successful candidate must be able to complete assignments quickly and accurately following detailed instructions, working independently and as part of a team. A passion for information analysis, technical innovation, and graphic presentation are critical.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or closely related field.
  • 3-5 years demonstrated work experience performing 3D Visualization and Graphic Design tasks which include creation of digital 3D design models, rendering of images, and camera matching to create accurate representations of proposed environments to incorporate into existing photography.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with 3D software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, 3ds Max, Lumion, Revit, and Sketch Up, as well as graphic design programs in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Experience with video editing using Adobe Premiere and After Effect is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with AR in an applied consulting environment is also highly desirable.
  • Field experience with digital photography and photo editing.
  • Provide portfolio or examples of work demonstrating that minimum qualifications are met.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment and demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 yr.
