Shifts: Location hours are planned for Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 – 6:00. Flexibility to work other days/hours for special functions, potential holiday operations as well.

Position Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Visitor Center Manager to provide an excellent guest experience for our new Downtown Louisville location. This will be a key role in the marketing and management of the Bardstown Bourbon Company Louisville experience. This new position will be responsible for ensuring the guest experience meets Brand direction and exceeds the expectations of all visitors. This role will lead a large hourly team and mixology team whose focus is on providing a unique and super premium brand experience for guests of Bardstown Bourbon Company in a brand-new satellite location. The role will be heavily involved with goal setting, using analytics to improve operations and measure performance. The Lou BBC VE Manager will maintain and operate a safe, responsible, and compliant environment for our guests and employees. The Manager will foster excellent team morale and an inclusive culture for our employeesacross this new satellite location in down Louisville. This position reports to the Vice President of Hospitality for Bardstown Bourbon Company and Green River Distillery.
Position Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight of our entire satellite Visitor Experience including our Guest Services & Tasting Experiences, the Retail Operation, Cocktail Experience, Trade/Media/VIP Experiences, and external and internal Events. Assist in the staffing and management of approximately eight hourly employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Leads, guides, and directs the activities associated with developing a one-of-a-kind guest experience for our consumers, trade, media, and VIP guests at the Bardstown Bourbon Company-Louisville. Operate under a hospitality-first mindset, create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive experience for all guests.
  • Work closely with the VP of Hospitality to implement both long and short term operational strategic plans for the overall success of this satellite location and ensure brand visitor experience goals are met on an annual basis and budget is managed.
  • Drive performances of team members and create a culture of teamwork and enthusiasm for providing a superb guest experience.
  • Schedule employees and review timecards for accuracy. Provide tip report for payroll.
  • Must be willing to take the company-paid course and become certified Stave & Thief Executive Bourbon Steward.
  • Responsible for the online booking program, credit card/cash management process and serves as the primary point of contact with the online booking software provider.
  • Ensure employees are well trained in their roles and cross trained. Support continual development and longer-term career goals.
  • Create a weekly schedule for Visitors Experience Representatives.
  • Seeks ways to identify and implement synergies between our homeplace in Bardstown.
  • Communicate all Visitor Experience activities with the homeplace on a regular basis, including planning and operational changes. Seek to drive synergies in the guest experience across departments and maintain alignment with brand strategy and homeplace strategic plan.
  • Develop annual goals and objectives in collaboration with the VP, Hospitality establishing monthly KPI goals.
  • Leverage Homeplace analytics tools to track performance, identify opportunities and make data driven decisions. Provide an overview to the VP of Hospitality on a monthly basis regarding on-going operational staffing, ticket, retail, and bar revenue performance and variances to the budget. Tracks daily visitor counts and manages visitor count reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Minimum two years’ leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a hospitality environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, hospitality, or related field.
  • Experience in a bourbon related hospitality environment highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of bourbon/cocktails desirable.
  • Ability to lead multiple employee types with strong mentoring, and coaching skills.
