Job Description
The UCM Videographer is responsible for producing high-quality video content that supports the university's marketing, communications, and academic initiatives. This includes creating promotional videos, documenting events, and creating instructional and educational videos. The videographer will work with a team of content creators, university departments, and external clients to develop and execute a range of video projects. Candidates should have experience shooting, lighting, managing audio, and editing. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Shoot and edit video content for various university projects
  • Assist with planning and shooting video for commercial broadcast, presentation, web, and social media usage.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external clients to understand their video needs and develop creative solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of video production techniques and equipment to ensure that videos are high-quality and visually appealing.
  • Capture high-quality audio and visual footage for events, b-roll, and other academic activities.
  • Ensure that videos meet the university's brand standards and messaging guidelines.
  • Edit video content in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.
  • Assist with maintaining the university's video archive and ensure that all videos are stored properly and easily accessible.
  • Brainstorm video content ideas with UCM team members.
  • Organize files according to UCM processes.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends for university events.

Required Education and/or Experience • Bachelor's Degree in film, media studies, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in video production, with a heavy focus in editing
  • Excellent technical skills in video production, including shooting, lighting, and editing
  • Knowledge of video production software such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong sense of creativity and attention to detail
  • Excellent collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications • Familiarity with all current editing software, final cut, Da Vinci and Premier.
