KPNX/12News is seeking a full time Video Editor/News Photographer. Strong candidates understand how to create compelling and engaging video content for broadcast, digital, streaming and social media platforms.
- Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producers
- Must always have a professional demeanor and work well/as a team player with news team and staff
- Ability to operate non-linear edit systems and experience with Edius, Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects & Photoshop)
- Editing a variety of video elements including voice-overs, SOTS, packages, graphics, and teases.
- Help with ENG duties such as tuning in Dejero, TVU, or satellites live shots.
- Ability to operate different types of video and DSLR cameras to create compelling visuals, interviews subjects, and producer/write their own stories with minimal assistance.
- Creative story telling of the highest journalist standards.
- Work closely with news producers, reporters, photojournalists, and the digital team to create the best morning show around
- Coordinate incoming video feeds to record
- Coordinating and helping ENG by sending station produced video to network and other TEGNA sister stations when asked
- Ability to multi-task, handling editing assignments and capturing feeds and FTP material, while constantly monitoring quality control editing to scripts and producer notes
- Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
- Experience with Edius and ENPS a plus.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a non-linear editor - preferably in a local TV news department environment.
- Physical Demands Set: Sedentary work: Involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
- Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
- Ability to create/edit material for on-air broadcasts and web, while meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
