About The Opportunity


JOB SUMMARY


The Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Administration (VPAFA) is a one year (renewable), half-time appointment in the Office of the Provost. Reporting to the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, duties will include oversight of the faculty leave process, sabbatical applications, faculty professional development opportunities, and review of faculty position postings. Special projects related to academic administration may include regulatory activities and visiting faculty and scholar appointments as designated by the Office of the Provost. The VPAFA will devote approximately 20 hours per week to these responsibilities during the calendar year.


Minimum Qualifications


The successful candidate will hold a tenured appointment or be eligible to be appointed as a faculty member in an academic department. They will have demonstrated leadership experience and expertise in faculty and academic affairs. They will be knowledgeable about and have experience in university governance, organization, and regulatory issues. Prior experience in faculty-related administrative areas is desired. The ability to work efficiently, complete projects in a timely manner, think creatively and flexibly, and work collaboratively with faculty and staff teams are critical skills to ensure success in this role.
