As our Vice President of Engineering for our Hospitality & Specialty Communications division (HSC) you will lead the Software, Systems, and Project Management teams. You will be responsible for all of the HSC hardware and software product developments. In order to accomplish this, you will be building and maintaining a high-performance team and ensure projects stay on track to deliver products that meet our strategic objectives.

What you will be doing:


  • Propose new products and improvements to existing products.
  • Lead the Software, Systems, and Project Management teams.
  • Serve as an internal change agent to drive engineering process enhancements, controls, and innovation.
  • Oversee annual budget process for the HSC Engineering department and potential multiyear technology investment strategies.
  • Partner with Product Management and senior staff to determine customers technology / product needs.
  • Effectively manage short-term project needs without adversely impacting long-term development roadmaps.
  • Recommend and implement policies reflecting industry best practices.
  • Oversee all the entire lifecycle of HSC product development from inception to product market release and sustaining.
  • Champion the hiring and development of top-notch Engineering talent along with the utilization of flexible outsourced talent solutions to meet short term demands or fill critical technology gaps.
  • Collaborate and execute the Engineering strategy that maps to and keeps pace with HME’s growth, future technology changes and corporate strategies.
  • Direct and manage product design, development, and maintenance efforts for the entire HSC portfolio of products.

What you will need to succeed in this position:

  • Familiarity with electrical design utilizing modem ARM and digital signal processors, power and thermal management, audio codecs and compression technology, short range digital radio technology utilizing 5GHz and below, EMI / EMC mitigation techniques, electronics packaging technology utilizing plastic injection molding and power supply design.
  • Experience effectively managing geographically diverse development teams across different continents.
  • Experience overseeing development of hardware, software, and cloud-based products in an Agile environment.
  • 10 years’ experience managing or directing engineering teams at the executive level, including experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • BS degree in Electrical or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with FCC / IC / CE approval processes.
  • Experience with SaaS model products and digital wireless communications systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Strong teamwork skills.
  • Product Management experience.

Pay Range: $185,315.00 - $285,100.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for the role. This may vary depending on experience and other factors. Our benefits package includes tuition reimbursement; 3 weeks paid vacation your first year, paid holidays, medical, vision and dental coverage, pet insurance, life insurance, and 401K contributions.
