We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our stellar front desk team in providing outstanding client service and patient care. Our receptionists set the first impression with our clients and patients; therefore, applicants must be friendly, professional, and courteous, and must love clients and their pets! Ideal candidates will have excellent customer service skills, be computer literate, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

About Us:
Pieper Veterinary's family of hospitals include primary care, specialty care, urgent care, and 24-hour emergency care, with locations reaching from the heart of the Connecticut River Valley down to the southern shoreline. This position will be focused on assisting the Primary Care department, though will help in other areas of Client Services as needed.
Pay: $17-$23/hour depending on level of experience, education and relevant certifications.
This is a full time position that will be scheduled about 40 hours per week. This schedule will also include working a weekend day. Typical shift times are:
- 8 AM - 4:30 PM
- 11:30 AM - 8 PM
Skills & Requirements
- Technology skills: Ability to operate office technology such as computers, tablets, scanners, fax machines, and copiers.
- Communication skills: efficiently communicate with other staff and clients, both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to remain calm during emotional and stressful situations, as well as ability to handle patients on a leash or carrier. Receptionist are expected to move through different areas such as multiple workstations, waiting areas, inventory, treatment and exam rooms.
- Responsibilities include: Check-in/out, taking payments, receiving & making calls, paging, faxing, printing, transcribing voicemails, sending emails, scheduling, confirmation calls/texting, cleaning, training and other clerical duties.
- Reliability: Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.
- Compassion and sensitivity: Ability to be sensitive to an ill pet, as well as its concerned owner.
- Customer service skills: Ability to provide friendly, efficient service to clients in-person, as well as on the phone. Considerable tact and diplomacy is required.
- Must appropriately read invoices, process payments and deposits. Must possess basic math skills as well as proper handling of cash and checks.
- Ability to multitask. Ability to manage office operations such as taking messages, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient files.
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to feel comfortable dealing with clients, patients, staff, and others.
