All Paws Veterinary Center is actively looking for an experienced veterinary assistant. The ideal candidate would be compassionate towards our patients, clients, and the All Paws Veterinary Center team. We are looking for someone with at least one year of experience but are willing to train the right candidate. A positive and motivating attitude is a must. The ideal candidate would enjoy client interaction when at the front desk but would also be confident in proper animal handling and restraint, rooming patients, assisting the technicians and veterinarians, helping with surgical recovery, possibly drawing blood, and understands the importance of client education and is a positive and supportive team player. Requirements:- Assisting veterinary technicians and doctors in hospital and outpatient cases
- Has experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Keeping the clinic's facilities and surfaces clean and organized
- Works well as part of a team
- At least one year of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs
- Reviewing dispensed medications to clients
- Working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment
- Discussing veterinary health problems and routine preventative medications with clients
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
