Pay: $21 / hour

Position Overview
The We’ll Buy Your Car Drop Off Coordinator is focused and specifically trained to inspect, process and complete the transaction of vehicles received by AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car program (WBYC). The Drop Off Coordinator role includes conducting vehicle inspections to ensure they match up with Condition Reports filled out by our customers online, process and upload documents required for the purchase, and present payment to our customers via same day check or Zelle. Our Drop Off Associates provide an exceptional customer experience, appropriately managing the customer’s expectations, and will strive to deliver on the ‘check within an hour’ promise of the We'll Buy Your Car program.

Who Would I Interact With?
The position interacts daily in-person with customers bringing in their vehicles they wish to sell, our BDC Associates who receive the inbound leads and schedule the appointments, the WBYC Manager, the Reconditioning Manager, the WBYC Corporate Processing Team, and Market support staff.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
  • Greeting the customer when they arrive, then performing an Active Trade Appraisal with the customer to determine accuracy of the CR and identify any vehicle condition issues that may not have been accounted for or disclosed
  • Partnering with our Recon Manager when needed if a vehicle requires a more thorough examination in our Service Department
  • Reviewing daily appointment log in our CRM tool to know what time customers are scheduled to arrive with their vehicle, and prepare for the appointment by reviewing the vehicle Condition Report (CR)
  • Presenting payment to the customer via check or Zelle, or receiving payment from customer if there is negative equity in the vehicle
  • Working directly with the WBYC Manager to determine if initial offer amount needs to be revised, and present customer with revised offer when needed.
  • Reviewing, processing, and uploading complete and accurate documents electronically to our Corporate WBYC Processing Team
How will I know if I’m Successful?
The performance of a Drop Off Associate is measured by achieving:
  • Targeted start-to-finish processing time to ensure we are delivering a high level of customer service
  • Targeted accuracy of amount of reconditioning expense that was estimated at time of appraisal vs. actual reconditioning expense
What are the requirements for this job?
  • Valid in-state drivers license and an acceptable, safe driving record
  • Previous automotive industry experience preferred but not required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to provide an exceptional in-person customer experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and desire to work with technology
