Job Description
The Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) has been providing exceptional patient and family focused health care and social services to the people of Kodiak Island since 1966. KANA’s patient-centered medical home model incorporates Behavioral Health, Dental, and Pharmacy services within the primary care setting to facilitate an advanced support system that ensures our patients’ needs are met. KANA also offers Child Services and Youth Prevention programs; Women, Infant and Children (WIC); Vocational Rehabilitation; Employment and Training services; Early Childhood and Infant Learning, and a full service fitness center to support the whole person.

    Provides transportation for patients while they are in Kodiak under KANA’s care and transports local patients from/to their residence. When not driving patients, this position will perform other courier and/or clerical duties as assigned.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by this position. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Use proper telephone etiquette and maintain professional demeanor at all times.
    • When not performing courier or patient transport services, will complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
    • Uphold KANA’s Code of Ethics by conducting professional activities with honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, and good faith in a manner that reflects positively upon the organization.
    • Provide transportation to KANA Patients from pre-authorized arrival and destination points (i.e., homes, hotels, hospital, airports, etc.) including assistance of disabled and elderly clients.
    • Greet visitors, staff and others in a professional courteous manner; direct visitors as appropriate.
    • Report any concern that the vehicle may require maintenance, and/or any unsafe or hazardous situations immediately to the Facilities Manager and Patient Access Manager.
    • Provide courier service to and from other health care facilities and other transportation services.
    • Support the organization’s mission and goals, quality standards, and patient-centered medical home philosophy.     • Clean interior and exterior of vehicles on a daily basis. Ensure windows are clear and streak free. Ensure interior and exterior is clean and free of dirt, dust, or other debris. Ensure interior of vehicles is organized and free of clutter.

    Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of three months related experience and/or training. Experience in customer service preferred.

    Additional Requirements:

    Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation and comfortability with driving a company-owned vehicle.
