Commercial Truck Driver - Class A & B CDL_ Pneumatic/Vacuum Truck Operator


Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Department: Industrial Services Division
Reports to: Branch Manager & Trainer

Summary/Objective:
The Pneumatic/Vacuum Truck Operator will perform a wide range of physical activities that require strength and flexibility of whole body for handling, positioning, moving, and manipulating equipment and materials and vacuum truck operations. The Vacuum Operator/CDL Driver will be responsible for driving and operating efficiently and safely all power equipment and vehicles in accordance with DOT laws and regulations.


Responsibilities:
  • Help with future job load outs or unloads from previous jobs – Return equipment and PPE back to designated areas.
  • Assist in general maintenance of company equipment, service, grease, etc.
  • General housekeeping – sweeping floors, taking out trash, and helping keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Wash and clean company equipment – Pressure wash, clean cabs, etc.
  • Manually clean, install, fit repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and all other external and internal equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective gear.
  • Operate and set up all necessary equipment in accordance with operation training and guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and industrial settings.


Qualifications:
  • Must possess a Medical Examiner’s Certificate or be able to obtain one.
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time.
  • Commercial Driver - Pneumatic/Vacuum Operator run under the FMCSA 70-hour rule
  • Auto Restrictions is OK
  • No experience required behind an 18-wheeler. Fresh out of school is OK!!
  • Willing to perform all job duties in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Must be capable of passing a personal background screen.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Willing to perform all required job duties in accordance with training.
  • Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Must be capable of passing an MVR background screen.
  • Willing to understand and follow all given directions.
  • Willing to respond to emergency calls 24 hours, 7 days a week as needed.
  • Must possess a valid Transportation Workers Identification card (TWIC) or be able to obtain one.


Physical Requirements:
  • Physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned
  • Physically capable of climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, and kneeling
  • Physically capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Physically capable of working in all inclement weather conditions
  • Physically capable of standing and/or walking continuously for long periods of time
