As a Director of User Experience, you will be a key leader owning both process and innovation for your portfolio’s interactive practice. You will have the responsibility of managing a team of UX and UI designers, UX research initiatives, and user testing program. Your expertise and energy will elevate the quality of projects by guiding creativity with best practices grounded in principles of User Centered Design and accessibility.

What You’ll Do

• Provide design direction to team members, including the areas of information architecture, UX and UI
• Collaborate closely with the Strategy and co-own user research.
• Own and manage a user testing program.
• You’ll be your portfolio’s principal interactive designer, leading the charge by example on high-profile clients.
• You will work with a team of project managers to define project life cycles and scope incoming interactive projects.
• You will manage projects that will be touched by multiple teams and collaborate internally with other departments.
• Work closely with the development department to manage the quality of interactive projects.
• Lead the efficiency, growth, and delivery of a team that embodies Pace’s values, making sure the team is as productive as possible to complete short term and long-term objectives.
• You will have responsibility and accountability for an interactive design team and interactive projects.

What You’ll Need

• Leadership. You have a proven ability to manage and lead. You are a passionate manager and are skilled at reaching across silos and fostering collaboration.

• Knowledge: You have a strong grasp on the following:
• Education and Experience. You have a BA/BS and 5-6+ years of relevant working experience, including 3+ years of people management experience.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio of team created work
• Role model. You are a strong fit with Pace’s culture and values.
• Presentation Skills: The ability to structure and present projects as well as research and strategy in a dynamic fashion.
• Modern Front-end Development Standards
• Principles of User Experience and User Centered Design
• User Testing
• Prototyping
• Interactive Design Process
• Design Chops: You have an ability to create effective and creative design solutions which you can turn into prototypes

The salary for this position will range from $84,000.00 - $118,000.00, depending on experience, education, geographical location, and other factors.
