Position Summary:

The Utility Line Locators are responsible for pinpointing the paths of cables, pipes and other conduits that carry utilities underground. The locators' efforts protect underground utilities from damage during projects involving excavation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand the use of magnetic, radar and electrical equipment to locate lines.
• Utilizing GPS or surveying equipment to pinpoint coordinates of lines.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
• Communicate with clients, engineers and management.
• Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes.
• Operates and maintains power generating equipment to provide electricity for plant.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• A current and valid driver's license with good driving record
• Ability to work overtime and on call
• Self-motivated and able to work alone.
• Ability to operate motor vehicle, climb stairs, and lift and carry samples
• Strong attention to detail.
• High School education or equivalent

Other Skills: Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $30.00 per hour
