Job Description

USHER

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra has part-time opportunities available for professional and friendly

individuals as Ushers. The essential responsibility of the Usher is to provide exemplary customer service

and a welcome and safe environment for all patrons, guests, and clients of the Morton. H. Meyerson

Symphony Center.

Ushers treat each visitor as a welcome guest, give them the assistance they need, and provide a safe and

clean environment at every performance and event.

Specific duties include scanning patron tickets; directing patrons to their seats in the concert hall;

understanding procedures for handling ticket problems; handling patron complaints with the highest

standard of customer service; having awareness and understanding of emergency procedures and

performing duties as required in such situations; and knowledge of all aspects of the Morton H.

Meyerson Symphony Center in order to provide information to patrons.

The successful candidate will be dependable and on time for each shift. Candidates must be available for
various hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The rate of pay is $15/hourly. Hours are not
guaranteed, but generally, an Usher’s schedule ranges from 10-20 hours weekly depending on the
concert/event schedule.
