Overview
URBN is seeking a highly motivated Information Security Engineer to join our Information Security Team at our home office, at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. This team protects URBN from cyber threats and attacks. This role works with URBN employees and technology teams to build capabilities that prevent, detect, and respond to security incidents. We are looking for a person that enjoys learning and mastering new technologies, and who is passionate about Information Security.
Responsibilities

• Continually enhance security resources by maintaining tools and reporting metrics.
• Engineer security solutions creating new capabilities that mitigate risk and provide strategies to improve the security posture of our enterprise information security program.
• Staying abreast with relevant industry news, security technology, and adversarial techniques to ensure our security stack is positioned to defend company assets.
• Work alongside Senior Engineers and subject matter experts (SME) to evaluate and select assessment tools and other cybersecurity technologies to improve our security solutions.
• Liaise with other engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities and take preventative measures.
• Perform information security functions around prevention, detection, monitoring, and response.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with networking and IT troubleshooting
• Experience with cloud infrastructure a plus
• Industry certifications a plus: (e.g. CEH, Security+, GSEC)
• 1-2 years of Windows and Linux operating systems experience
• Prior experience with SIEM and EDR
• Understanding of PowerShell, Bash, Python, Windows CLI
• 1-2 years of prior experience in information security operations or system administration

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, or a related field
