  • This is a hybrid position reporting to the Dearborn, MI office 2-3 days a week.
Universal Banker I- The Auto Club Group
What will you do:
Receive and process telephone calls for customer service requests and sales in Dearborn, MI bank branch. Communicate with customers via email. Navigate through various sources to gather the necessary information in order to respond to customer questions or concerns and resolve issues in a timely manner. Provide banking account information and explain product features to customers. Assist customers in completing financial transactions related to their bank accounts. Open deposit products such as checking, savings, CD, IRA accounts and safe deposit boxes. Process deposit applications from walk in customers. Make outbound calls to customers to follow-up on applications and service requests. Follow-up with customers and internal departments to ensure that all documentation is received and in compliance with bank procedures. Promote seamless service to ensure customer satisfaction goals and standards are met.
Identify opportunities to cross-sell bank and The Auto Club Group products and services including: deposit products, loans, trust, credit cards and AAA membership and insurance. Offer additional bank products and services in the effort to retain existing customers. Determine the need for a particular type of product/service and refer to appropriate area (i.e. Auto and Consumer Lending) as necessary. Demonstrate a clear understanding and application of bank and regulatory procedures.
May be required to open and close branch and conduct branch security testing as needed when working at a branch location.

We’re looking for candidates who:
Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)
Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
  • 1 year personal banking experience or 3 years retail sales experience
  • Working within a customer service environment
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of:
  • Effective business writing skills
  • Customer service techniques
  • Selling techniques
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to:
  • Sell bank products and services to consumers, both in person, by phone, through e-mail or through online chat
  • Perform bank image capture
  • Open and maintain deposit accounts for customers
  • Perform account maintenance on customer accounts
  • Provide a high level of customer service to meet bank customer needs
  • Accept consumer loan applications, follow-up with customers on documentation and close in-person consumer loans
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
  • Multi-task to accomplish goals and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate teamwork
  • Work and communicate with multiple lines of business and bank departments
  • Cross-sell bank products and services to strengthen current relationship
  • Balance cash vault, teller drawer and ATM
  • Service customer bank inquiries
  • Effectively communicate with current and potential customers in person, by phone or through online chat
  • Comply with all banking regulations, including deposit regulations, lending regulations, and know your customer regulations as they relate to the job functions
Preferred Qualifications
Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):
  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or a related field
Experience:
  • Branch banking, account opening and/or sales experience
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bank systems
  • Bank products and services such as loans and lines of credit.
  • Personal banking operations and procedures
  • Teller operations and procedures
  • Banking regulations including deposit, lending and know your customer regulations
  • Knowledge of Individual Retirement Accounts and the laws that govern them
  • Compliance with Bank policies and procedures
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position reporting to the Dearborn, MI office 2-3 days a week. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy. Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand and sit for long period of time.
