Job Title: Underwriting Assistant

:

• In office at least 4 days per week during training (typically 2-4 weeks of training)
• 2 days/ week in office remote other 3 days

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Monitor rush Outlook boxes for urgent requests from underwriting and answer those requests.
• Complete computer modeling of new and renewal business.
• Use Office suite applications and proprietary software to complete a variety of tasks working alone and as part of a team.
• Enter new business applications, initiate the renewal application processes.
• Process computer generated policies and assemble them in accordance with departmental standards to ensure the team remains compliant.
• Computer skills at least intermediate level Microsoft Office Excel important moving a lot of insurance data
• Complete inspection reviews and make endorsement recommendations.
• Process cancellation, reinstatement, renewals, and conditional renewals for commercial property insurance policies.
• Process and issue non-premium bearing endorsements for underwriting teams.
• Print and process daily outgoing mail for underwriting and respond to returned mail.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail on a daily basis.
• Process policy final binds, issuance of claims docs, and loss runs.
• Provide significant weather event (hurricane, earthquake) support creating folders and filing claims docs.
