Job Description
Job Summary


Under the direction of the Director of Parks and Recreation, the Trip Coordinator will perform various support duties in the planning and execution of trips and events for the Parks and Recreation Department with a focus on providing the residents of Dearborn Heights outstanding experiences. The trip Coordinator will be the main point of contact for residents and venues throughout the planning process. The City of Dearborn Heights is a public corporation. The employees of the City are required to serve citizens and customers in a tactful, courteous manner; establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, directors, elected officials, and general public.


COMPENSATION:


$17.00/hour for 25-28 hours per week.


This is a Part-Time position and is not eligible for benefits nor paid time off.


Qualifications


  • Flexible schedule
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have earned a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Plan and coordinate group trips, excursions, and other activities including reservations and transportation arrangements
  • Prepare detailed itineraries.
  • Develop relationships with vendors to plan events
  • Handle all administrative tasks related to trips
  • Actively communicate with the community
  • Provide customer service and emergency support to travelers during their trips
  • Other duties assigned by the Department Director
  • Monitor and manage Trip Program budgets and expenses
