Assists in the supervision and training of Temp employees in the removal and installation of suspension components for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, to include operating and inspecting machines or equipment, dismantling, and reassembling equipment, and testing overhauled equipment to insure proper operation.NOTE: This role requires regular travel. On average 70-80% on the road!*Sign On Bonus $1000Your Impact- Assist in the training and supervision of new team members on maintenance processes for the ECP1 Project.- Repair and maintain mechanical equipment to include servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily based on mechanical (not electronic) principles.- Operate vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment to include running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as Bradley Fighting Vehicles (BFVs), forklifts or passenger vehicles.- Remove and replace suspension components per the work instruction.- Inspect items to be reinstalled on the equipment for excessive wear; replace component as required.- Operate small electric or gas-powered forklift.- Perform as a team to install components; heavier parts require two-person lift.- Identify opportunities for process improvements and present them to the project manager.- Clean the maintenance bay after each complete install using water, brooms, and mops.- Work in hot and cold conditions (not climate controlled).- Maintain current knowledge of the equipment and apply any technical updates or changes to maintenance procedures.- Identify safety hazards or conditions to the project manager immediately.- Package removed components for transportation.- Unpack new components for install.- Understand and abide by the standards set forth for ethical behavior and integrity as detailed in the Code of Business Conduct.- Perform all other duties prescribed by management.Who You AreRequired Qualifications- Minimum of a high school diploma or the equivalent with the described maintenance experience identified above.- Must be able to troubleshoot and determining causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it.- Must have active learning skills to be able to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.- Must be able to work under stress and prioritize work requirements to meet the overall operational requirements.- Must have beginner to basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, inventory control software, etc.)- Must be able to bend, stoop, stand and lift 50 pounds continually throughout shift (8-12 hours.)- Must be able to use hoists and hand tools, examine parts for damage or excessive wear, report defective equipment to the appropriate personnel and use micrometers and gauges accurately.- Must be able to work in both hot and cold environment (non-climate controlled.)- Ability to gain access to US Government facilities by adhering to the policies and procedures of the host installation for the duration of the contract.- Must be able to obtain an US Army vehicle operator's permit (DA Form 348) to operate any of the BFV FOV, a 10,000-pound forklift and any other vehicles as directed by Louis Berger Services.- Must be able to utilize a wide array of tools and testing equipment as used on the BFV FOV.- Must be able to use common hand mechanics hand tools, torque wrenches and impact wrenches as outlined in the work instruction.- Must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions.- Must have good communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to communicate with many levels of personnel effectively and tactfully in a variety of environments.- Must be dependable, consistently at work and on time, follow instructions well, respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performance.
