Transportation Aide positions are entry level positions where candidates help direct their career paths based on their interests in the world of transportation while helping the Department to meet our objectives throughout the construction season that keeps Maine moving!
With statewide positions available, selected candidates are placed on projects as close to their residence as possible or assigned to one of our two fully accredited materials laboratories in Freeport or Bangor. These positions typically run from mid-May to the end of the construction season. Engineering students are encouraged to apply!
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, and training or work experience which would demonstrate a knowledge of basic mathematics and an ability to read and comprehend manuals, maps, charts, and graphs.
