Job Description

Saint Peter's Transport Services Department is seeing a part time Transport Operations Coordinator to join the team!

Transport Operations Coordinator:

  • Supervises training of all new employees.
Ensures that Lead Transport Aides are training new employees according to Department policy.
Issues uniform(s) to new employees and assigns locker according to Department policy.
  • Prioritizes Department activities.
Investigates complaints from patients and Hospital employees regarding service within 24 hours.
Documents any unusual daily events on the Supervisor's Report for review by the Department Manager or Assistant Manager, with less than two (2) exceptions per year.
Demonstrates proficiency in the utilization of P.F.S. computerized dispatch system, as instructed.
Ability to answer telephones effectively, efficiently and courteously according to Hospital policy.
Utilizes current SPUH computer system as instructed.
Follows up on photocopy requests and ensures completion on a daily basis. Periodically makes Hospital rounds of the Transport Aides' work areas to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to fire and safety regulations.
Monitors the ongoing preventive maintenance program of patient transport equipment to ensure patient safety, according to a monthly review of the logbook.
Oversees cleaning and sanitizing of patient transport equipment on a daily basis, by random inspections of equipment.
Inspects duplicating equipment as needed and takes appropriate action according to Department policy.
Follows established disaster, emergency, safety and fire policies and procedures.
Assigns Department personnel to inspect and exchange flow meters on oxygen cylinders on a daily basis.
Requirements:
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively and courteously with staff, other Hospital personnel, patients and external contacts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Department/Hospital policies and procedures in order to answer administrative questions for the Transport staff and other Hospital personnel.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and analytical ability necessary to provide leadership for a service department and attention to detail.

Schedule:

Every Weekend - Saturday: 1 pm - 9:30 pm, Sunday: 7 am - 7:30 pm (Sunday is a requirement. Saturday can be flexible).
