Sims Brothers Recycling is looking for a full-time Trailer Mechanic at our Marion, OH plant location. The Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on trailer units.

About The Position

• On occasion able to work overtime as needed
• Weekends Off
• $18.00 Per Hour
• Monday - Friday Work Week
• Shift: 7am - 3:30pm
• Location: Marion, OH

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and trouble shoot issues while communicating with supervisor and teammates.
• All repairs are expected to be completed following Sims Brothers and DOT regulations.
• Willingness to participate in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications.
• Repair and maintain semi-trailers, roll off trailers and dump trailers including DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, air brakes, tires, suspensions, hydraulic cylinders, valves, hoses, rear doors, floor repair and side panel replacement.
• Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with team members.
• Complete and turn in inspections and work orders for all equipment.

Requirements

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions; indoors and outdoors.
• Valid driver's license
• 1 Year of Experience Preferred
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Must be able to lift/move 20-100 lbs.
• Current Medical Card
• On occasion able to work overtime as needed.
• Good communication skills and reliable attendance is expected.
• High school or post-secondary training in automotive or heavy-duty repair.

Education And/or Experience

• High School Diploma (GED equivalent); or the equivalent education and experience
