OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV Stations
FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include extensive knowledge of computer traffic mapping and graphics display to report on Live TV and Digital. Must be able to report information on traffic incidents, construction areas and detours with clarity and in a concise and knowledgeable presentation. Must be experienced in Live TV production and presentation. Must be able to converse on any subject during on-air adlib and scripted discussions clearly and effectively. Must develop reliable sources to help in obtaining and confirming information for online and newscast reporting. Must be able to secure and organize elements for Digital and TV reports, such as electronic audio and video files, photos, and documents. Write and publish stories for digital platforms. The position requires that the Traffic Anchor/Reporter works closely with Managers, Assignment Editors, Producers, Anchors and Meteorologists to source and contribute information on Traffic and Transportation projects and issues. The position requires the candidate to work with the Department of Transportation, TXDOT, police and other authorities to source the most updated information for FOX 4’s TV and Digital audiences.
Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in Communication and/or Journalism. Previous live TV/Media experience required. Must possess strong communication skills and etiquette. Must have strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters for all media. Ability maintain a calm demeanor under tight deadlines. Strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of TV news production is required, including digital newsgathering tools. Must be able to use newsroom computer systems, including BitCentral and editing software. Strong and confident communication skills are a must. Most complete required administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
