Job Description
$150 - $300 per tour

BEST DFW TOURS delivers unique, memorable and authentic tours and experiences. Our knowledgeable guides are dynamic, engaging and excellent storytellers with the unique goal of providing the best customer experience. Our core goal is to contribute to making Dallas – Fort Worth an exceptional and memorable destination.

We are seeking a personable individual to offer our guests an exceptional experience while taking one of our tours. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging guests in an informative and interactive manner. You will provide a wealth of information related to the tour and answer any questions our guests might have to the very best of your ability. We operate 7 days a week, availability on weekends is a must. A second language is desired but not required. Experience with social media, customer service and event planning are desired skills. This is a contract position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Know all safety and security protocols, should they be needed
  • Deescalate any tension with difficult guests
  • Escort guests through the tour, taking breaks as needed
  • Determine if any guests have physical restrictions that should be considered
  • Outline the tour and timeline before beginning
  • Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic at all times
  • Answer any questions that the guests have
  • Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner
  • Keep the tour moving on schedule while still being considerate to guests
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of our tour subject matter and related topics (we train new hires, we are looking for candidates that are interested in history, architecture and general culture)
  • Greet all guests promptly at scheduled tour times

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills, including email and word processing
  • Experience with public speaking is a plus
  • Enthusiastic, engaging, and informative way of speaking
  • Availability on nights and weekends is a must
  • Fluent in English; bilingual a plus
  • Significant work experience in customer service preferred
  • Ability to execute with a high degree of professionalism and excellence, especially under pressure.
  • Previous tour guiding experience preferred
  • Passion for learning and willingness to continue to acquire relevant knowledge
  • Ability to memorize and recite facts clearly and accurately
  • Friendly, warm, appreciative, hospitable, speak clearly and at a pleasant pace.
