The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing development, review and revision of Title IX policies, procedures and educational programs for all faculty and staff.


The Title IX Coordinator manages the day-to-day responsibilities associated with the university's Title IX obligations. The Title IX Coordinator will work with all appropriate offices/positions (e.g., Dean of Students, Provost, Director Human Resources, Safety and Security, etc.) to ensure that students, faculty and staff are aware of their options and resources with respect to reporting and filing complaints alleging discrimination based on gender, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct and relationship violence. The Title IX Coordinator will be responsible for collecting the relevant facts related to reported Title IX incidents.


Duties and Tasks


  • Maintains current knowledge of Title IX rules and regulations the university is required to be compliant with and provides ongoing and updated information to all university faculty and staff as needed, to ensure university employees can assist with compliance activities as needed and appropriate.
  • Receives reports/complaints of potential violations of university policies and procedures and reviews with VP to determine if follow-up is warranted. Makes recommendation for follow-up to university administrators and managers as appropriate (e.g., violation of an employment policy would be referred to the Director of Human Resources).
  • Receives reports/complaints of potential violations of Title IX and other laws and regulations as stated above and reviews with VP to determine next steps. Conducts a thorough investigation as warranted and provides the facts of the case to the university administrator and/or committee/board responsible for adjudicating such matters.
  • Develops and implements in-service training for university employees on Title IX issues/topics as needed for the university to be aware of, and abide by all relevant Title IX rules, regulations and policies.

  • Ability to understand the needs of the university and to work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff in a wide array of situations.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with diplomacy and excellent judgment and to act calmly and objectively.
  • Experience providing training across broad institutional lines on laws, policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, and a record of progressively responsible work experience in human resources, student affairs or a related field that includes conducting investigations of alleged violations of rules and regulations relevant to colleges and universities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student population and workforce, including those with different levels of academic preparation and varying physical and learning abilities and socioeconomic levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with large and diverse audiences.
