Job Description
GovSG is looking for an amazingly talented Threat Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to perform analysis of complex threat systems to support Missile Defense System capability development and assessment.


What You'll Be Doing (Job Duties):


  • Develop and maintain software to perform duties.
  • Analyze intelligence-based threat system performance to translate threat capabilities into written requirements for target vehicles.
  • Work within the Target Requirements Team and stakeholders to develop clear, concise, and unambiguous target requirements.
  • Prepare technical presentations of analysis performed and results obtained for the Engineering team and the DEI-E Director.
  • Develop tools to aid in data analysis and presentation.
  • Analyze referent data to aid in requirements definition and compliance assessment.
  • Brief internal leadership on requirements development, mission and trajectory analysis, and RCS and IR signatures.
  • Lead and support technical meetings (e.g., provide input and meeting synopsis).
  • Develop briefings suitable for explaining requirements, derivation decisions and calculations to external teams and internal leadership.


Desired Skills:


  • Understanding of the MDA Engineering practices and processes
  • Familiarity with Missile Defense System system-level documentation, such as the System Description Document and System Specification Experience using MATLAB to develop analysis and plotting tools (other scripting languages such as Python are also desirable).
  • Degree in Math, Physics or similar core engineering field
  • Ability to work within a collaborative environment composed of government, prime/sub-contractor and supporting contractor personnel.
  • Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency and the Missile Defense System
  • Ability to generate and deliver briefings to external teams and management effectively.


This position is located: Huntsville AL


Required Specialized Experience:


  • Experience in trajectory analysis to include working in different coordinate frames, endo- and exo-atmospheric behavior, and identifying key trajectory parameters.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Experience with RF signature generation and assessment to include processing XPATCH output files.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience with IR signature generation and assessment to include executing and processing Optical Signatures Code (OSC).
  • 7+ years’ experience in missile defense engineering or similar related programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field
  • Experience in RF or IR signature analysis and assessment.
  • Technical analysis of complex system performance.


Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field


Special Requirements: Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizens) and ability to possess a DoD secret clearance at start date.


Salary: $120,000-$175,000. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
