A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Quality Test Technician you will be conducting routine test on voltage regulators, transformers and other products manufactured in the factory per the work instructions and applicable ANSI/IEEE standard. Responsible to ensure product meets all required routine and design tests, ensure smooth operation of test department and help troubleshoot any equipment or production issues that come up. Be the voice of quality and support quality, manufacturing and other teams to improve the performance and make improvements to the product and manufacturing processes by helping implement preventive and corrective measures for problem areas identified.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Report test results and inspection issues using various reporting mechanisms as required
  • Report and update issues using the Shop Floor Management (SFM) tool, SAP, and other reporting mechanisms as required.
  • Inspect units and complete associated documentation during assembly for compliance to production and quality requirements
  • Troubleshoot test equipment and test failures and update shop floor management tool to track failures
  • Electrical/Dielectric testing of various regulators and transformers including necessary physical wiring, connections
  • Support all other Production and Quality team activities as needed including preliminary and dielectric testing of units, dryout, and oil filling activities. Additional hours may be required on weekends and evenings to support these activities.
  • Work as part of the Quality team to ensure the overall quality of manufactured product including troubleshooting problems and helping improve test processes
  • Energize and oil fill voltage regulators per dryout work instructions


What You Bring

  • Color vision sufficient to identify wiring, labels, etc. used in the production of voltage regulators, particularly the ability to differentiate between red, green, and yellow colors
  • Conduct test protocols as assigned to ensure the products and systems that are created by local organization meet specified requirements and customer expectations
  • Good analytical skills and critical thinking to be able to spot problems quickly
  • Minimum 1 year experience in inspecting and testing electrical products in a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Capable of making necessary physical connections requiring the use of lifts and ladders; Capable of pushing units on roller lines short distances (3-6 ft)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are key. Must be able to relay potentially complex ideas to a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings and technical specifications used in the design and production of voltage regulators.
  • Color vision sufficient to distinguish wiring used in voltage regulators.
  • Ability to interpret and apply IEEE/ANSI standards and ensure application in production
