TEST ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:

• Attends meetings to track the testing progress.
• Place the test files into the proper directory.
• Creates Support Requests in JIRA for defects or issues.
• Reviews and supports requirement changes for new development projects.
• Responsible as backup for “File Gate Keeper” tasks including the following:
• Interacts with clients on a day-to-day basis.
• Executes SQL statements to ensure Data Integrity in the database.
• Download interface IPAC inbound (confirmation) files from Treasury QA system and provide the inbound file to the tester
• Performs a variety of testing phases which include Cycle testing, User-Acceptance testing, Regression testing, and end-to-end testing.
• Records and documents results and compares to expected results.
• Provides software testing services for a web-based financial system.
• Obtain and create test files per request from testers
• Creates test data when necessary.
• Upload IPAC outbound files to Treasury QA System
• Uses test scripts to perform test as well as prerequisites, input file information, batch job parameters and expected results.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/EXPERTISE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems Management, or related field of study
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience with Pegasys financial system a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Office, JIRA, Confluence, and SQL
• Attention to detail and deductive reasoning
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• 2-4 years of experience as a software testing engineer
• Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
