Job Description
As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be part of Production Development, a team focused on developing operations capability and capacity through innovation in a safe and cost-effective way. This is an exciting opportunity to join in on developing Power Distribution Units (PDU), Static Transfer Switches (STS) and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) products for data centers and critical power applications.


This position reports to Production Development Manager


Your responsibilities


  • Investigate, evaluate, and implement new or improved automation technology/methods that improve safety, quality, capability, and capacity while reducing cost and lead-time.
  • Provides support during equipment startup, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources.
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems such as delays, malfunctions, and errors to determine the root cause of the problem and provide a workable/optimal solution in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Assist in the specification and design for capital equipment, and lead construction of both manual and automated test systems for high power electrical systems.
  • Work with R&D/Product Engineering to recommend design requirements to support automated manufacturing test processes.
  • Provide sustaining support or manage activities whether relevant systems are internally implemented, outsourced or some combination thereof.
  • Conceptualize, develop, monitor, adjust and implement projects, taking into consideration numerous and changing priorities, and or resources to achieve operation goals.
  • Participate in cross functional teams to develop business propositions and executive summaries which support LPG growth and profitability.
  • Design and write software for the purpose of controlling both manual and automated test systems with varying hardware and IO requirements for measurement of electrical systems.
  • Design and development of system applications with intuitive user interfaces that perform according to specifications using LabVIEW and/or TestStand.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools.


Your background


  • Experience with low voltage high power electrical equipment a plus.
  • Proficient in using electrical test equipment including but not limited to power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers.
  • Knowledge of Lean/ Six sigma and process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in reading and building schematics for machines and/or PCBAs.
  • 2+ years of hands-on controls/mechatronics/test/automation engineering experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, MATLAB, LabVIEW and PCBA programming.
  • Experience with Construction Project Management a plus.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the US.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics preferred), with 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
