Job Description

The Test Automation Engineer position will be responsible for building test automation frameworks and writing automation scripts from inception and testing client-side APIs, rich user interfaces, mobile and batch processing applications. This position will drive our test automation strategy using industry best practices and working collaboratively with a cross-functional team of product owners, business analysts, testers, and software engineers. We are seeking candidates who have a passion for high-quality software, enjoy collaborating with other teams, and are methodical problem solvers.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes a set of test suites (unit, integration, regression, performance/load, security) for multiple applications that can run in a CI/CD environment, across various devices and environments.
  • Analyze complex software systems and collaborate with others to improve the overall design, testability, and quality of our servicing platforms.
  • Develop high-quality automation test engineering best practices, test strategy and principles.
  • Coordinate with the Scrum team in overseeing bug tracking, test prioritization, test automation, and release.
  • Work with the development team to define and implement mechanisms to inject testing earlier into the software development process.
  • Track and communicate test results in a timely, effective, and automated manner.
  • Work with the product team to understand how new features should be tested, and then engage them in contributing automated tests.
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.


Requirements

  • Strong understanding of web-development technologies, including HTML, CSS, Groovy/Grails, JS (and frameworks), Spring, Hibernate, SOAP and RESTful web services
  • Experience with source code management GIT, SVN
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work remotely within the Corserv footprint
  • Experience with one or more cloud service providers, AWS preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to appropriately and effectively interact with employees, contractors and clients
  • Experience assessing risk for determining appropriate levels of testing
  • Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced writing unit tests in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Scala, JavaScript
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a client service attitude and mindset for work prioritization and issue resolution
  • Experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks and infrastructure.
  • Financial services and/or credit card systems experience is a plus
  • 4+ years of experience in automated testing
  • Expert knowledge of SCRUM tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Expert knowledge of all phases of the SDLC, especially Agile/SCRUM
  • In-depth experience with one or more test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Appium, RestAssured
  • Experience in MSSQL and T-SQL
  • Ability to manage tasks against deadlines as well as mitigate risks
  • Experience with Continuous Integration systems (Jenkins)
  • Ability to be nimble and operate effectively, even in ambiguous situations
  • Self-starter, high energy, assertive, take charge personality
