Planned Parenthood Association of Utah (PPAU) is a non-profit family planning agency and a leader in sexual and reproductive healthcare, advocacy, and education in the state of Utah. The Telehealth Clinician Manager is a board certified and licensed Nurse Practitioner who is licensed in the State of Utah. The provider conducts patient assessment, education, counseling, and triage over the telephone or other forms of interactive media. With the collaboration of the Medical Director and the Telehealth Manager, the Telehealth Clinician Manager is responsible for developing and expanding the organization’s telehealth services in addition to providing patient care. As a member of the clinic team, they participate in the development implementation of processes to provide quality patient care.

This position is part-time (20 hrs.) of which 8 hours will be administrative and 16 hours will be patient care.

Job Duties:

  • Attend training and continuing education courses as needed to maintain licensure.
  • Work with Medical Director and Telehealth Manager to build and expand telehealth services affiliate wide.
  • Prescribe medication and order diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Collaborates and audits with billing and compliance to ensure provider adherence.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to help improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the telemedicine program.
  • Participates in RQM committee activities including chart reviews of remote visits, adverse event tracking.
  • Collaborates with telehealth manager to build provider schedules.
  • Establish a rapport with patients to build trust and confidence, providing education on their condition and treatment options.
  • Follow up with patients after appointments to ensure they are adhering to their treatment plan and to answer any questions or address any concerns.
  • Completes competency assessments and ongoing preceptorship of telehealth providers.
  • Provide high-quality patient care via telemedicine technology in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Builds and manages updates to clinical algorithms for intra-clinic and extra clinic telehealth services.
  • Training telehealth providers on NextGen telehealth documentation and clinical pathways.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience providing medical care via telehealth.
  • 2+ years clinical experience in Reproductive Health preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Adhere to the timeline and completes all required PPAU, PPFA and state mandated trainings.
  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal/presentation).
  • Current Utah license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician’s Assistant.
  • COVID-19 vaccination and yearly influenza vaccination required.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel on an ongoing basis.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with underserved populations preferred.
  • Professional, self-motivated, results oriented.
  • Ability to effectively use organization’s computer systems.

The salary for this position is $
5 4.33 - $61.00 an hour.
