Job Description

Technology Research Analyst - Westfield Capital is seeking a Research Analyst to contribute to the coverage of publicly-traded technology companies. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional (2-5 years) wishing to make significant contributions to a growth equity portfolio within a collaborative environment at a growing Boston-based investment management firm.


Responsibilities:

  • Attend industry conferences and conduct site visits to meet with senior executives and investor relations personnel of leading technology companies
  • Maintain proprietary databases tracking earnings estimates and price targets of existing holdings, industry metrics, and important technology sector trends and themes
  • Build and update detailed Excel-based financial and valuation models. Assist in the creation of Powerpoint-based investment committee memos
  • Conduct maintenance research on news impactful to existing and prospective portfolio holdings. Analyze and preview quarterly earnings reports
  • Interact with sellside research analysts, consultants, and industry contacts to develop investment theses on stocks


Required Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Maturity to represent the firm in communications with C-level executives at leading technology companies, as well as interface internally with other senior portfolio managers
  • Collaborative team player with high ethical standards Passionate about public market investing
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Self-starter, with strong work ethic and high level of energy to complete assignments quickly and accurately
  • 2-5 years of experience in investment banking, sellside equity research, management consulting, and/or public or private equity investing Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) and familiarity with market data providers (CapitalIQ, Factset, Bloomberg)
