Job Description
Administers electroencephalographic tests under the direction of a neurologist monitors performance of equipment and makes adjustments and repairs as needed.

Essential Functions:
  • Monitors patient's response during test and summons assistance if necessary.
  • Cleans and maintains diagnostic test equipment.
  • Assures that the equipment is properly prepared with sufficient paper and ink to record electrical impulses.
  • Orders and stock supplies and materials used for testing.
  • Prepares patient for test by positioning patient and attaching electrodes according to established procedures.
  • Marks and files paper records for review by neurologist.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
  • Greets patient and explains the diagnostic procedure.
  • Instructs patient regarding test procedures and activities.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
  • One (1) year of experience in an EEG laboratory or completion of an EEG training program.
Education
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A

Additional Requirements:
  • In order to work effectively with patients, must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and be able to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see.
  • Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of college or technical school preferred with emphasis on physical or biologic sciences.
