What you'll be doing...

Verizon is seeking a highly motivated candidate with broad experience to join the Consumer Innovation team in the Technical Product Development organization as a Product Manager. You will play an integral role in generating new product concepts to address customer pain points, collaborate with the Product Engineer to evaluate go-to-market offerings that can be adopted for commercialization to drive new revenue for Verizon. You will develop and implement innovation strategies, define & develop product roadmap, manage product pipeline through the innovation process, collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze market trends, nurture external engagements with various industry partners including entrepreneurs, start-ups, VCs and present across stakeholders to influence and drive adoption.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other teams to propose and define product requirements, specifications for new features and functionalities, ensuring a user-centered and innovative approach.
  • Conduct user research, gather customer insights, and identify new product opportunities to drive product enhancements and differentiate our offerings in the market.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to drive innovation, infuse design thinking principles into our product development process, and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  • Work closely with the design team to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces and experiences, applying design thinking principles to ensure seamless interactions and delightful user journeys.
  • Lead the specific vertical to represent the team internally and externally as the Product SME through written communications and presentations
  • Drive idea generation to commercialization through the New Product Innovation process to influence stakeholders to adopt the concept for commercialization. This includes defining and overseeing external partner evaluation, prototyping, beta trials etc
  • Develop and execute the product roadmap for the Consumer Home product portfolio, applying design thinking principles and considering user needs, market trends, and business goals.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, product marketing, developers and external partners, to drive product success and ensure alignment with business objectives, while also promoting a collaborative and inclusive approach to innovation.

What we're looking for...

What you need to have:

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing home products throughout the entire product lifecycle, applying design thinking principles to drive user-centered innovation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and design thinking.
  • Proactive, ability to iterate and fail fast with a self-driven mindset,
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven and design thinking approach to decision-making.
  • Passion for technology, and staying abreast of the latest industry trends.
  • 8-10 years of experience in product management, with a focus on design thinking, innovation, and smart home or consumer electronics industry- SmartHome Products (ex. Ring, Nest, home IOT devices etc) Home Security, Aging, Wellness, Home Network routers and Communications
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $128,000.00 and $271,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
