Technical Content Writer Jobs

FTxPOS is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and compassionate technical content writer to join their team in the Madison, Alabama location. As a technical content writer, the words in your work serve as a voice for the company, and by delivering an engaging and easy-to-understand message to your intended audience, you are playing a crucial role in the overall success of the products and services offered by the company. In this role, the right candidate will effectively capture the attention of readers by generating high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience, delivering easy-to-understand, polished, and engaging pieces, including interface text, journal articles, website help sections, product manuals, and how-to guides. They will also be frequently collaborating with developers, engineers, product managers, and usability experts to generate an easy, smooth experience for both current and future customers.

The right candidate will be responsible for:

• Creating user-friendly, easy-to-read writing material that will engage their intended audience
• Developing comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards
• Creating tutorials to help end-users perform a variety of applications with ease
• Developing and maintaining detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications
• Obtaining a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex production information into simple, polished, and engaging content
• Evaluating current content and developing innovative approaches for improvement

Qualifications:

• The ability to handle multiple projects at once simultaneously
• A team player who embodies an energetic and compassionate nature
• The ability to effectively deliver high-quality documentation with an eye for detail
• Familiarity with the systems development life cycle (SDLC) and software development
• The capacity to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easy and understandable in text and pictures
• A strong knowledge of technical writing of software documentation, including using XML tools
• Exceptional writing skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
