JOB TITLE- Tax Representative

FFIO (Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations) provides accounting and investment management support services to Fidelity mutual funds and other investment vehicles, as well as to many Fidelity business partners. These services include calculating and distributing NAVs, distribution rates and yields for a wide variety of investment products; preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates and tax returns; monitoring delivery of fund trades to custodian banks; processing corporate actions; collecting securities income on behalf of the funds; reconciling, reporting and moving money in support of fund shareholder transactions; and managing fund liquidity.

The Role

The Tax Group is primarily responsible for analyzing the Funds books and records in order to provide accurate and timely fund distributions, tax returns and shareholder reporting and to ensure compliance with various Tax Agencies. This includes 40-Act Retail Mutual Funds, Canadian Mutual Fund Trusts, Partnerships and ETFs.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Knowledge of financial services industry
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• Flexibility to work overtime (as needed) to fulfill the job requirements
• Organizational and time management skills
• 1-2 years of experience fund operations, or tax strongly preferred
• General knowledge of accounting and tax principles
• Ability to embrace and adapt to an ever-changing technological environment

The Team

The FFIO Tax Team consists of tax professionals, in an operations-focused environment, dedicated to delivering exception service and solutions to our business partners. We ensure the Fidelity Mutual Funds stay compliant with tax regulatory requirements, minimize tax impacts to the Funds and their shareholders, and avoid tax penalties. We do this by utilizing our proprietary software to calculate the mutual fund’s taxable income to pay the required distributions. The team also prepares the funds’ tax returns and works with our financial statement team on other required disclosures and reporting.
