Job Description

Managers exhibit the ability to monitor, develop, train, and fully utilize staff members in conjunction with the timely completion of assigned responsibilities. Managers demonstrate strong judgment and communication skills which earn the confidence of clients and superiors. Managers often have primary client responsibility, and, in some cases, a Manager is assigned other key areas of responsibility, including technical and administrative duties. Although exceptions can be made with approval of Human Resources and the Managing Partner, being a CPA is a presumptively mandatory requirement of the Manager position.


What Your Day Looks Like:
  • Manage internal job scheduling.
  • Train and supervise Senior Associates, In-Charge Associates, and Associates.
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Direct engagements including timeline, budget, schedule, Associate reviews, and workpapers.
  • Support the Partners and Directors with audits by outside regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with research and planning according to the current laws and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Assist in the billing process.
  • Evaluates the tax impact of current and proposed activities and transactions.
  • Assist clients with strategies to minimize tax liabilities in accordance with current tax laws.
  • Participate in proposals and other practice development/marketing activities.
  • Has substantial interaction with clients.
  • May be responsible for several jobs at one time.
What You Need for This Role:
  • Willing to stay up to date through continuing education and continuous reading of professional journals
  • 7+ years of public accounting or similar experience
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated with strong work ethic and a team player
  • Ability to interact well with clients
  • Proficiency with accounting technology systems and software (e.g. Engagement, Practice Management, ProStaff, Adobe, Microsoft Excel, etc.)
  • Involved in community/business associations
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Ability to work on more than one job at a time
  • Certified public accountant (CPA) designation required
