Position Summary


Rockwell’s Advanced Technology (AT) research team is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform model-based system engineering in support of a) research, b) technology planning and b) support to technology insertion / tech transfer. The position will work with senior executive staff, technology leadership, and research teams to develop and maintain reference models for automation applications. The individual will serve as the subject matter expert internal and external to Rockwell on assessing the impact of emerging technologies that have applicable industrial automation and information technology applications.

Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain reference architectures for various industrial automation and information technology applications.
  • Perform research on model-based design that can be applied directly to industrial automation applications.
  • Perform other tasking as required.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for model-based system engineering as part of Rockwell’s Advanced Technology research team.
  • Leverage reference architectures and purpose-built models to help RA plan long-range research.
  • Utilize model-based system engineering techniques to help insert technology into Rockwell products and services.
Basic Qualifications


  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
Desired Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited university. Undergraduate in a technical or scientific field.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, LaTeX typesetting.
  • Proficiency with at least one programing language (C, C++, C#, Python, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering and the Architecture Analysis and Design Integrated Approach (ARCADIA) method.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM) or the Architecture Analysis and Design Integrated Approach (ARCADIA) method.
  • Experience developing models in CAPELLA.
  • An undergraduate in a hard science or math Mathematics; Physics; Biomedical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering; Computer Science, Engineering Physics or Mechanics, Data Science, Mechatronics, etc..
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to work creatively and effectively in both collaborative and independent settings.
  • Multi-lingual and/or experience with multicultural environments.
  • Strong and demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
