Railhead is presently seeking multiple professionals, including a Systems Engineer to work at Ft. Meade, MD supporting an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies, called Defense Enclave Services (DES). The DES contract will unify the DOD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities’ common-use information technology systems, personnel, functions, and program elements under the direction of DISA’s Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office.
Primary Responsibilities

• Gather needed data to forecast long-term capacity and performance requirements
• Perform initial discovery efforts, defining data collection requirements based on inputs needed to develop a successful migration plan
• Forecast backend infrastructure needs resulting from the migration of over 20 agencies into a single architecture
• Define migration plans that accelerate execution and minimize impact to the user community.
• Design solutions, integrate, configure, test and deploy numerous types server-based applications based on Windows, Linux, and VMware operating systems.
• Optimize end-to-end system performance and migration workflows.
• Establish migration plans for complex n-tier applications and services.
• Conduct data captures to obtain computing performance and system configuration information.
• Utilize advanced data analysis techniques and benchmarks to define the future state migration plan, and the pre-migration activities necessary to close gaps

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Secret Security Clearance
• Proficiency with enterprise-class server-based services such as: directory services, collaboration tools, monitoring tools, and virtual infrastructure.
• DoD IAT Level II (Security+ ) certification or equivalent is required, prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Consulting firm experience.
• Strong knowledge of networking, storage, cyber, and data center facilities.
