Position Description

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer who is excited to apply their talents to delivering cutting-edge solutions to our customer's challenging project (FORGE MDPAP). The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment where they can solve challenging engineering problems, a desire to work directly with customers, and the ability to inform and guide product development with a systems mindset.

We seek people who embody Outside Analytics' core values of advancing people and mission across both commercial and US Government markets. The ideal candidate is a recognized professional with hands-on technical expertise with a good understanding of technical engineering concepts.

Clearance And Background Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is required with a willingness and ability to get a DoD Secret clearance. Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is preferred.

Passing a pre-employment background screen is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in making technical design decisions weighing cost, schedule, and mission utility factors 
• Accountability and authority to determine "what" the team develops within the framework of higher-level requirements that produces the most value for the mission 
• Participates in the program ceremonies (e.g., Scrums, PI Planning, Demos, Technical Exchange Meetings, etc.)
• Participates in backlog grooming and defining objectives, features and dependencies
• Maintain and develop system artifacts including requirements, architecture designs, ICDs, use cases, system flow diagrams, and test plans
• Contribute to all phases of a system lifecycle including: CONOPS, requirements, architecture, design, development, integration, test, operations, and maintenance

Required Technical Qualifications And Skills

• Product Design experience such as concept of operations development, high-level and detailed software architecture definition, requirements analysis, use case analysis, UI/UX design, and/or algorithm development 
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for coordinating between program managers, software developers, and other systems engineers
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline and 3+ years of professional experience
• 2 years of experience specifically in a systems engineering role during multiple stages of the program lifecycle

Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred:

• An active Secret DoD security clearance or higher
• Experience supporting programs in the defense and aerospace fields
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering. Familiarity with SysML or the Cameo/MagicDraw family of tools is a plus.
• Experience with Agile software development tools and methodologies
• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps
