We seek a System Administrator to join the Information Technology group based in Haleakala National Park, Hawaii.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitor system performance to support backup and recovery planning.
  • Provide problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems.
  • Perform system integration, hardware and software installation, and configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
  • Administer user access and work to protect information according to security requirements.
  • Provide support for the design, validation, and configuration management of computing delivery systems.

In order to meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite. Some shifts will be worked at Haleakala and others in Kihei.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with Linux and Windows operating systems at the system administrator level.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations.
  • 3+ years of experience in production operations or a support role involving end user/customer support for IT systems.
  • A current Security+ (Sec+) certification or other current DoD 8570/8140 Approved Baseline Certification OR willing and have the ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ Pre-Start (i.e. successful completion of a DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification)?
  • Ability to work above 10,000 feet ASL.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related technologies (RedHat, Linux, Python, VMWare, PowerShell).
  • The ability to bridge understanding among technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other goals.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 year's related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift Work:

This position is for variable shift and may require you to work a variety of fluctuating shifts that include days, nights, and possible on call support. Shift differential and overtime will apply.
