Description


The Support Worker will work with individuals who are receiving services and are living and recovering from a psychiatric disability and/or substance abuse. The Support Worker provides supportive services geared toward enabling residents to live independently and work toward realizing their full potential. In this role, the Support Worker will work mainly in the field meeting with clients and assisting and supporting to reach pre-determined goals they've identified.


Full-time | 40 hours | Benefit Eligible including PTO


Schedule: Monday - Friday

Requirements


  • Patient and emotionally resilient.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
  • Valid NJ Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to carry out domestic duties.
  • Empathetic with good listening skills.
  • Commitment to helping others.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a mental health related discipline OR
  • High School Diploma or GED plus 4 years of related work or life experience
