Job Description
General:


The supply room attendant provides inventory oversight and coordinates the distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other work-related supplies for plant operations. The role is responsible for accurate inventory records, ordering, storage, and cleanliness of supplies. The role is customer-focused and exercises solid interpersonal and communication skills. The position reports to the purchasing manager with w/the primary work schedule of M-F, day shift with overtime as needed to support shift coverage that includes early arrival and late dismissal.


Specific Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Partner with operations to ensure supply room area coverage supports production needs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Follow up and correct any supply inventory discrepancies
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Monitor PPE inventory and other commodity-type supplies to ensure availability when needed
  • Maintain a safety-first mindset for self and other members of the team
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and organization in the supply areas
  • Organize, stock, track, clean, and distribute appropriate PPE for the plant site

Requirements


Skills/Abilities/Attributes:


  • Good communication & interpersonal skills; positive face-of-the company
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing /industrial environment (food processing preferred)
  • Customer-focused; well organized – attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Excel, WORD, PowerPoint
  • Team player; able to work in a fast-paced environment w/ minimum supervision; multi-tasker


Physical Requirements:


  • Work safely in hot, cold, wet environments e.g., 35-40 / 100 degrees
  • Lift/move up to 40 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop for prolonged periods
