Job Description

Our client, Twelve South is a Charleston-based company that designs and manufactures ingenious accessories tailored exclusively for Apple. We are actively recruiting for a talented Supply & Demand Planner to join our team and contribute to the worldwide planning of our multi-location, multi-customer network. By building an optimized supply plan that effectively meets the needs of our business, you will be an integral part of a burgeoning global brand that is sold world worldwide in Apple Store, Amazon, Best Buy, and TwelveSouth.com. You will support the monthly S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process by developing a demand and supply plan that optimizes inventory levels, manufacturing asset utilization, and customer delivery service.

As the ideal candidate, you will utilize Supply Chain Management (SCM) principles to comprehend all factors that can influence and affect the forecast, ensuring alignment between various teams such as Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, and Operations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our systems development, including project management, as we continue to grow. What you’ll do:

  • Facilitate the allocation process and oversee demand execution.
  • Document assumptions on demand and supply as part of the S&OP process.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to achieve a balance between supply and demand in the short and long term.
  • Gather and analyze demand inputs, conducting pressure tests and comparing them to historical data and market indicators.
  • Stay updated on industry changes and actively seek ways to improve processes.
  • Optimize internal capacity and evaluate external sourcing options.
  • Continuously identify and develop areas for improvement related to the monthly forecasting process.
  • Lead in the development of mid-range production and capacity plans.
  • Drive the Sales & Operations Planning process, collaborating with sales and marketing to build demand consensus and reaching an agreement on the supply/inventory plan with senior leadership.
  • Participate in the development of processes, system enhancements, and implementations.
  • Conduct inventory optimization, balancing financial impact to the company and customer service level.
  • Ensure KPIs are aligned with business objectives/strategy and regularly communicated to the relevant teams. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) may include Inventory Days of Sales, Customer Delivery Service (OTIF), Production Asset Utilization, and Forecast Accuracy.
  • Develop necessary tools to ensure data integrity of inventory, part number maintenance, and planning throughout the supply planning system.
  • Perform trend analysis to identify inconsistencies between forecasts and actual sales.


What you have:

  • Excellent communication skills and strong process development capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Forecast Management systems such as JDA, I2 Technologies, NewMetrics, SAP, Oracle, or Logility is a plus.
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Preferred certifications: APICS CPIM and/or IBF Demand Planning
  • Minimum of 4 years of business experience, including at least 1 year in supply chain and logistics functions such as demand planning, production planning, and distribution planning, preferably in the automotive or consumer products industry with a focus on forecasting and statistics.
  • Experience with ERP systems and S&OP processes.
  • Expertise in leading and supporting a cross-functional S&OP process, with proficiency in developing supply plans from demand plans.
  • A hands-on leadership approach, comfortable with ambiguity and a track record of success in a changing environment, with the ability to influence change.
  • Experience in forecasting, budgeting, strong quantitative and analytical skills, and a proven track record of balancing optimal inventory turns, manufacturing asset utilization, and customer fulfillment rates.
